I called and easily made an appointment to meet with Steve at his store. He had shoes ready for me to try on. Steve’s enthusiasm and product knowledge comes across in a low key, personable and helpful way. This led to a purchase of a pair of shoes with a proper fit that I had been wanting. I also learned more about the fine shoe brands I like. There was no pressure or any sales baloney. Steve also included shoe trees and polish with my purchase. There just isn’t a better place to buy fine men’s shoes anywhere in Southern California. I’ll be back again.

Steve is very knowledgeable and runs the shop solo. He’s able to provide guidance for beginners (e.g. which brands have recently dropped in quality). Price is reasonable compared to other sellers. I believe Steve is the only carrier of new Carmina shoes in San Diego. The shop also carries Alden, Edward Green, and Crocket & Jones as of last week.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. This is one of the best-kept secrets in North America insofar as classic menswear is concerned. I’ve been a customer for nine years, but since I live outside of California, all of my orders have been online. I booked an impromptu trip to Los Angeles and drove to San Diego to have a suit done here, and I couldn’t be happier. Steve is an absolute professional and a great guy! He has a wealth of experience and his attention to detail is second to none. He was kind enough to recommend some amazing places along the ride back to LA as well, which were amazing. I was looking for a pair of Carmina dress shoes. After researching I found that Gentlemen’s Footwear in San Diego was the only storefront that sold these shoes on the west coast. It was important for me to be able to physically go into the store, try on the shoes and have some of my questions answered. Once I was at Gentlemen’s Footwear, I met the owner Steve. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how this type of shoe is supposed to fit. How my shoe should feel and how to take good care of the shoe so it lasts. My overall experience was great and I give my highest recommendation for anyone looking for a great quality shoe go to Gentlemen’s Footwear in San Diego. I’m already looking forward to buying my second pair of shoes from Steve.

Steve is incredibly knowledgeable and easy-going that made my overall experience from entering the store to purchasing what I needed extremely pleasant. He helped me in finding my ideal shoe size and explained the mechanics of the shoe relative to the size I ended up getting. It was my first time at San Diego and he even gave me restaurant recommendations, which I ended up going to and they were all delicious! I really recommend going here if you're at San Diego as the atmosphere at the store is genuine and hospitable.
